Exceptional fishing again last week out of Bermagui with lots of Bluefin Tuna up to 60 kilos and some over 100 kilos thrown in as well, still good Yellowfin Tuna around and plenty of Albacore. Fished with my 10 and 8 year old sons and found nice school of Bluefin Tuna, hooked up on the troll then threw a handful of pilchards in and had the school with hundreds of fish at the back of our boat for nearly 2 hours. My 10 year old son caught his first Bluefin Tuna a 31 kilo fish on 24 kilo line and my 8 year old fought for 1.5 hrs for a 25.2 kilo fish on 10 kilo line, both pending Australian Records. The fishing was amazing, virtually hand feeding tuna and the hook ups were endless. A highlight was throwing a jig attached to a Stellar 20000 with 80lb braid with drag around 10 kilo set and getting smashed, nearly spooled it and busted of after about an hour.

The Bluefin Tuna appear to be holding at the moment, however we are heading North for our light/heavy tackle season on the 23rd of this month so with a few days left ring us now to get in the action!

The bite at Bermie is on fire with sensational Fishing! Schools of Albacore up to 25kg, Yellowfin Tuna averaging 25 to 35 kilo with very large models amongst them. Paul Blacka on Mr Hooker headed out wide looking for Bluefin Tuna and had a five way hook up landing three of these fish the heaviest being 119.6kg. Three and four way hook ups are common with the smallest on the deck at around 90 kilos. The odd Striped Marlin are still around with two fish hooked and lost yesterday.

If you’re thinking of coming fishing this is the best bite we’ve seen for a long time call us now to land your dream!

Fished bermie last week with my two sons having a ball on plenty of Albacore up to 10 kilos and spent 2.5 hours on an 8 kilo line to take a beautiful Yellowfin Tuna. We had a very Large Mako Shark around 250kilos arrive during the fight and was eating our Albacore, we set a hook with wire and let him run for a bit to keep him away from our fin before cutting him off.
Fishing has been exceptional recently with most boats taking good sized fish, the boat out Wednesday taking four Yellowfin Tuna to the 25/30 kilo mark, recent captures at Bermie also include a 97 and 83 kilo Yellowfin Tuna.

Customers Ryan and mates came fishing in May for Marlin and Yellowfin Tuna.  The boys ended up with two smaller Yellowfin Tuna and had a double hookup on Marlin. Unfourntuantly missed both Marlin but kept the Yellowfin Tuna.  The boys last day saw a nice Mako Shark take a couple of live trolled Skipjack Tunas, a quick wire trace out and the boys landed a beautiful Mako Shark.

The boys sent through an email with the following comments:

“The crew were fantastic, really good blokes and enjoyed fishing with them. Thanks for organising the trip for us, and hopefully in the future we will get back down there for another crack”

We have seen the first signs of Tuna these past few weeks with some very nice Yellowfin at 94 kilos, 75 and 3 over 60 kilos with numerous fish in the 25 to 30 kilos range with some Albacore Tuna up to 10kg in amongst them. Mako Sharks are starting to fire with some large ones around 150 kilos, mostly averaging 60 to 80 kilos. Kingfish have been on the bite at the Island with one boat taking seven great sized fish. Excellent Deep bottom fishing has also been producing some very nice Blue Eye Cod. Marlin captures are still occurring with a double hook up of Striped Marlin only last week.
